Information Concerning the Birch Bay Watershed & Resource Management (BBWARM) Fee (3/2009)

Status of the BBWARM Fee (April 14, 2009)

Kraig Olason, county planner met with Jim Johnson and reviewed Association documents which limit impervious surfaces within the park.  Jim also provided a drive around inspection to the county so that they could see that lots do comply with our documentation. Based on our documents, Mr. Olason stated that he felt that we could fall into a small residential category and be eligible for a lower rate of assessment. After Mr. Olason conferred with the county legal department and the county treasurer’s office, it was determined that a rate reduction is in order.

In an email sent to Don Schleuse today, Mr. Olason stated that rate adjustments have been sent to the treasurer’s office and that owners should be receiving a letter of adjustment on Monday. The rate for all but exempt seniors and double lots will be at a reduced rate of $75.00.  Lot 162, owned by the Association, will be combined with the remainder of Association property and will be billed to the Association. By combining lot 162 with the remainder of Association property will save the Association approximately $50.00

Any issues owners have with the assessments should be directed to the county and not to the Association.
